My Interview with Author Cory Cyr


1.    When did you first realize you wanted to become a Writer/author?

I began writing music at 10, lyrics at 12 and stories at fourteen.

2.    Where do you get your ideas for your book?

All my ideas are based on “some” truth. They all have elements from my life. Since I am an “older”  woman and only date “younger” men, I have a ton of writing material.
3.    What kind of things do you enjoy when not writing?

I love PNR, as well as erotic romance. I will read anything if it attracts me.

4.    How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

My EIGHTH (8) will be published March 31 and I just finished writing my ninth (July 21). It is too hard to say which one is my favorite because they all hold a special place in my heat.
5.    Do you have any suggestions to help others who have a passion for writing?

You have to have THICK SKIN, be driven, and find the will to never give up. I will pass the same advice a HUGE NY Bestseller gave me in 2014: Quit writing what you think will SELL and write WHAT YOU KNOW!

6.    What do you think makes a great story?

Characters and dialogue. Concept helps, but I’ve read too many books that had a great idea but the execution fell flat. Also penning something FRESH.

7.    Which Writer/Authors inspire you?

                                 Jodi Ellen Malpas & Pepper Winters

8.    What are you working on at the moment?(optional)

I just finished my 9th book (July 21) and probably next month in between edits will finish my 10th book Bite & Release 3: Riley (Oct. 20) My readers have been waiting for this book.
9.    What genre are your books?

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be one for YOUNGER MEN/OLDER WOMEN. I suppose I fall into erotic romance, with my upcoming release & my July book is more of a Urban Romance but has strong language, explicit sex and adult themes. All my books are written for the over 18 crowd.

10.What drew you to the genre you write?

                                        Write what you know.

11.Which Actor/Actress would you like to see portraying the lead character from your most recent book?(any book you like)

They would have to be unknown and unless I was the one writing the script, forget it. Movies have a tendency to decimate a good book.

12.Do you write full-time or part-time?

                                                            Fulltime/24/7

13.What is the hardest thing about writing?


It’s a solitary lifestyle, which makes it perfect for someone who has no family(that would be me-LOL)

14.Any tips on how to get through the dreaded Writer’s block?

 I’ve never had it. If anything I have so many half-written manuscripts, I’ll be       dead before I finished them all.
15.Do you read much, and if so who are your favorite Authors or genres?

Pepper Winters, JA HUSS, Jodi Ellen Malpas, Amelia Hutchens: I will stop whatever I am doing to read their new book release.
16.Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?
